Synergetic Fields Hoodie, Black Heavyweight Cotton Fleece
Synergetic Fields Hoodie, Black Heavyweight Cotton Fleece
A black pullover hoodie in heavyweight cotton fleece, cut with dropped shoulders and a relaxed body, carrying the Rx logo and tetrahedron graphic. Sizes Small through XL.
Designed in San Francisco. Made in Korea.
The fleece is brushed after knitting, a finishing pass that lifts the fibers on the inside face so the hand softens without the weight coming out of the garment.
Synergetic Fields. A system holds because its parts hold each other.

Synergetics
Synergetics is a term coined by the mid-century architect and designer Buckminster Fuller for the study of whole systems, where the behavior of the whole cannot be predicted from any part taken on its own. Its structural principle is tensegrity, Fuller's 1955 contraction of tensional integrity: tension and compression held in opposition, so that a structure stands through the balance of its own forces.
A powerful analogy for life's ups and downs, and for the value of staying centered and poised when faced with obstacles. The only constant is how you respond to them.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Synergetic Fields Hoodie fit?
It is cut relaxed, with dropped shoulders that sit below the natural shoulder line and room through the chest. Our fit model is 6'1" and wears a Large. If you are between sizes and want the intended oversized line, take your usual size. If you prefer it closer to the body, size down.
What does Synergetic Fields refer to?
Buckminster Fuller's synergetics, the study of whole systems whose behavior cannot be predicted from any single part. The tetrahedron on this hoodie is the shape Fuller held to be the simplest structural system there is. The name points at the idea that a thing holds through the balance of its own opposing forces.
Where is the Synergetic Fields Hoodie made?
Designed in San Francisco and made in Korea. Design, pattern and graphic development happen in San Francisco, and the garment itself is manufactured in Korea, as is every piece in the collection. On a heavyweight fleece hoodie, construction is most of the garment, which is where that manufacturing matters.
What is the hoodie made from?
Heavyweight cotton fleece, brushed on the inside face. Brushing raises the fibers so the interior is soft against the skin while the outer face keeps its structure and the garment keeps its weight. It is a substantial hoodie rather than a lightweight one, built to hold its shape through repeated wear.
How should the hoodie be washed?
Wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle, and dry flat or tumble on low. Heavy cotton fleece shrinks in a hot wash or a hot dryer, and high heat also flattens the brushed interior. Avoid ironing directly over the graphic.
